Mar 11 (Mon) – Update
Hi.
Yesterday didn’t go according to plan. Well, it did and it didn’t..
I started the day with light breakfast and a plan to clean all the carpet with our big Bissell carpet cleaner. We had had six dogs in the house recently and with a wet backyard with muddy spots, well, you get the idea.

I had forgotten that last week I agreed to help Kyle do oil changes in both his vehicles. He called me, my memory was refreshed, and I started preppin’ for a couple oil changes.

Oil these days runs around $8-$9 a quart. There’s no need for it but there it is.

Long story short Kyle rolled car #1 into our garage and we got that one done. That car has a oil filter that sits in a metal casting at the side of the top of the engine. Easier than removing a filter that’s hanging below the engine.

That filter is just the paper pleats, no metal cover around it. I lifted that filter out of the container and oboy. It was pushed in in the middle. It had an hourglass profile. I know that filter was waaaaay past due for replacement. No doubt the bypass valve was activated, the oil in that engine hadn’t been going through the filter in who knows how long. Change the oil in your cars, folks.

Car #2 wasn’t much better. 11,000 miles overdue. The oil kinda glopped outta the oil pan on that one. SMH.

I took the opportunity to sweep the empty garage, about ten pounds of dust and dirt from winter snow. All my clothes went straight into the washer, I went straight into the shower.

Today Kim and I plan on a date! A matinee – Dune 2. We’ll see how things turn out. Cheers!
